From a parent’s perspective, a parent–teen contract is about trust and teamwork. It creates clear expectations around staying substance-free while encouraging open, honest conversations. By agreeing on boundaries together, teens feel respected and parents feel reassured, making it easier to support healthy, confident choices. Prom and Graduation Letter

SAFE in Northern Michigan, with support from law enforcement across Antrim, Charlevoix, and Emmet Counties, has created a parent letter promoting safe, substance-free celebrations during prom and graduation season. Click here to see the full letter.

In the past 30 days, 15.3 percent of Charlevoix County High School students reported vaping. (MiPHY 2022)

In the past 30 days, 23.4 percent of Emmet County High School students reported vaping. (MiPHY 2022)
SAFE is proud to have 109 active youth members, 43 active adult members, and 11 active school partners.
From 2014 to 2020, the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and prescription drugs DECREASED around the SAFE region!
